Safety First

TRUE™ pledges to provide a safer environment for singles to meet.  Our member code of ethics, single certification and criminal background screening are required for all communicating members.

NO SYSTEM OF DATING IS TOTALLY SAFE, INCLUDING OUR ONLINE RELATIONSHIP SITE; YOU HAVE THE FINAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR SAFETY.

Common sense and sound judgment will keep you better protected.  To further assist you, TRUE's Security Department recommends the following safety checklist:

Do not give out your real name, address, place of employment, phone number, or email address until you have met the person and have a good feeling about them.
Use TRUE email first to establish contact and receive a reply.
Use TRUE chat rooms (including the audio and video rooms) for your first date.  Get a good feeling about the person before meeting them.
Request the person's picture.  This serves as a means of identification.  If the picture does not reflect the person's real appearance notify TRUE Security.
Wear conservative clothing to your first meeting.
Avoid suggestive language and jokes.
Make your first meeting at a well-lit public place like a coffee shop.  Lunch is also a great venue.  At the end of your first meeting if you feel good about the person, then you can decide whether or not you want to give them your real identity and exchange phone numbers.
If, for any reason, you feel uncomfortable or insecure, discontinue the contact, call a taxi (do not leave in your own car).  Ask an employee of the location to walk you to the taxi.
When going out always tell someone: whom you are going out with, their number, your mobile number, where you are going and your estimated time of return.
If possible, always carry your mobile phone, coins for a pay phone and taxi money.
Ask questions of the person.  Does what they say match what is in their profile? If not, notify TRUE Security as soon as possible.  We do not tolerate misrepresentations on our site.
TRUE highly recommends that you do not post pictures of children on your profile or any other internet site.  Do not discuss your children with anyone until you have met the person and feel comfortable with them.

TRUE's Security Department is dedicated to maintaining an ethical environment for serious singles to meet.  Please help us by notifying security@true.com immediately if you suspect that a member is not complying with the member code of ethics or if you have any other security concern.
